I have had so many technology dreams lately, it is crazy! I wake up at 2-3am and a spontaneous and random idea comes to mind, that I never would have thought of during the day. At the moment I am living, dreaming and breathing iPads, apps and technology. I feel so inspired by other educators and ideas that are floating around, and often this fuels my thoughts for more innovative ways to integrate it.
Last night, I went to bed pondering about planning and how much time it was taking me to copy and paste Curriculum links, type and then print or send files from my computer to iPad and I started thinking about how this could be more effective, faster and easily editable on the go. I am a true believer in planning ahead, but also really value on-the-go formative planning because my belief (formed by research and professional learning) is that students learning needs to be conducted on a 'needs-basis' formulated through ongoing diagnostic, formative and summative assessment.
I've noticed that often formative planning, tends to entail lots of double handling. I will assess a child or take observation anecdotes then make adjustments to my plan, but it takes time to do this during DOTT or on the weekend to ensure that my adjustments are made and there is a paper trail to keep me accountable for the learning. So, I wondered how I could utilise the iPad and make adjustments to planning more easily without so much double handling.
This is my solution (thus far) ...
I would love to hear any other apps you use for planning that have been useful in minimising double handling!
